Dr. Gary J.L. Foster graduated from Brigham Young University, Cum Laude, and then received his M.D. degree from the University of Utah with AOA Honors. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center, and scored in the top one percent nationally of board certifying ophthalmologists. He then received post residency training in retinal laser and refractive surgery before joining the Eye Center of Northern Colorado, P.C. in Ft Collins in 1995. This is accomplished through eye-enhancing laser cataract correction with near focusing lens implants (ReSTOR, Technis Multifocal, and Crystalens), laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK), phakic IOLs.
Dr. Foster has been a principle investigator in numerous research projects to enhance eye treatment and technology, and is a certified physician trainer for laser eye surgery with the Visx laser. He is involved in teaching advanced surgical techniques at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery national meetings, and speaks regularly on related topics to train other doctors.

What Makes Me Smile:
I spend most of my free time with my wife and our 3 boys. As a family we enjoy biking, hiking, swimming, skiing and just exploring the outdoors. Traveling, live music and taco trucks are high on that list as well. I personally enjoy the challenge of fly fishing and am looking forward to exploring this and other new outdoor opportunities in northern Colorado.
